In this scene from Dawn of the Dead (2004) (DotD), it shows how the zombies are quick smart Monsters. This is one of the main differences from previous films like this that the zombies can actually run rather than appearing stupid and not being able to move very fast. As the zombies can move fast it automatically picks up the speed of the film and quick shots (often just a second long) are used a lot more to show off that there is a lot more happening at once. This image shows how Michael has to think quickly about how he is going to save himself and kill the zombies that are coming towards them without being bitten. This scene is also another scene that has a lot of body horror in it when Michael shoots the zombies.
