Image Analyses Dawn of the Dead (1979)

This scene from DotD (1979) indicates how George A. Romero has left as the narrative with an open ending. Peter and Fran get away but they reveal they don’t have much fuel therefore this shows they may not get very far in the helicopter. Romero has gone against the Cultural Dominant Ideologies (CDI) as you would usually expect the blonde pregnant female to be the female victim but in DOTD (1979) she becomes the final girl and her and the black man Peter become the survivors, many horror movies, these are usually the first to die. The ideologies show how Fran reacts against sexism towards women and demands a gun and to be taught how to fly the plane. If she hadn’t of done this her and Peter wouldn’t of been able to fly away at the end.
